The Bahamas economy is heavily dependent on tourism. Tourism, trade and commerce are all suffering devastating and deep blows as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Bahamas Prime Minister, Dr. Hubert Minnis said that by some estimates, the local economy may shrink by between 14 to 20 per cent during 2020, adding “this will represent a historic one-year decline. Tourism, the leading engine of our economy, is being devastated.
